I have been using linux actively for 5 years and have both Linux+ and LPI I certifications. I am particularly interested in using Linux on old/unusual hardware, like PDA's, old laptops, internet appliances, etc.
I'm the author of
The Quick Python Book, 2nd edition, from
Manning Publications, which can be found
here.
I also blog at http://learnpython.wordpress.com, mostly on Pythonic topics.
For a desktop distro I favor Ubuntu, and for the weird stuff I usually use Debian, Slackware or a home grown version.
When it comes to programming I am a veteran of C/C++, Pascal and (even) BASIC. Currently I teach Java, but tend to code in Python.
